Big Laugh Comedy Festival presents Old School
Hailed as ‘the undisputed kings of Samoan stand up comedy,’ Eteuati Ete and Tofiga Fepulea’i are accomplished and sought after performing artists and comedians in their own right.
Their first show together Laughing With Samoans in 2003 made such an impact, people started calling the duo the "Laughing Samoans," a name they decided to adopt. In 2004 they produced A Small Samoan Wedding which became an even bigger hit with sell out shows throughout New Zealand, Australia, the US and the Pacific.
Old School is another step up for the Laughing Samoans with sell out shows in Auckland, Wellington and the Cook Islands already. As well as Australia, it will be touring the US and the Pacific this year.
The Laughing Samoans aim to produce comedy the whole family can enjoy, based on stories, characters and situations close to home.
Ete was born in Samoa and was 12 years old when his family migrated to NZ where his parents were called to serve as ministers of the Samoan EFKS church in Wellington.
Tofiga is a young Samoan man, born and bred in Wellington, NZ, educated at Rongotai College. Though a fierce and talented rugby player, Tofiga hung up his boots to concentrate on his many other talents.
